Reset inspection or oil change on Honda CR-V 1st and 2nd generation (1996 to 2006)
- Step 1: In the first step turn off the ignition of your CR-V.
- Step 2: Then press and hold the TRIP button on the instrument cluster (see video).
- Step 3: While still holding down the TRIP button, now simultaneously turn on the ignition with your other hand.
- Step 4: The maintenance symbol then starts to flash on the display (see video).
- Step 5: Once the maintenance icon stops flashing, you can release the button.
- Step 6: Finally, turn off the ignition of your vehicle.
Well done! The reset was successful.

Reset inspection or oil change on Honda CR-V 3rd generation (2006 to 2012)
- Step 1: Make sure your car’s ignition is on.
- Step 2: In the second step, press the TRIP button repeatedly until you can see the following menu on the display “OIL LIFE/ÖL LEBENSPAUER XY %“.
- Step 3: Then press and hold the TRIP button.
- Step 4: Afterwards, the following message will appear on the screen “CANCEL“. Once you see this message, release the button.
- Step 5: Next turn the TRIP button to the left until the OIL LIFE/OIL LIFESPAN indicator starts to flash or is selected.
- Step 6: In the sixth step, press the TRIP button once.
- Step 7: Next, press and hold the TRIP button one last time until the display goes blank and you get to the main menu.
- Step 8: In the last step turn the ignition on and off again to check if the reset was successful.
Finished! The service reminder has just been successfully reset.

Reset inspection or oil change on Honda CR-V 4th generation (2012 to 2018)
- Step 1: Make sure the ignition is on.
- Step 2: Next, direct your attention to the center console screen.
- Step 3: In the third step, press the left MENU button on the steering wheel once (see video).
- Step 4: Then use the UP and DOWN ARROW buttons on the steering wheel to scroll to the VEHICLE INFORMATION → MAINTENANCE INFO menu item.
- Step 5: Afterwards, press the SOURCE button on the steering wheel once.
- Step 6: You will then be asked if you want to reset the maintenance interval, use the DOWN ARROW button to scroll to YES and confirm with the SOURCE button on the steering wheel.
- Step 7: Finally, your lifespan should be set back to 100%. Then switch off the ignition of your CR-V.

Reset inspection or oil change on Honda CR-V 5th generation (since 2016)
- Step 1: Switch on the ignition without starting the engine.
- Step 2: Next, draw your attention to the car’s center console screen.
- Step 3: Afterwards, tap with your finger on SETTINGS → VEHICLE.
- Step 4: In the VEHICLE SETTINGS go to the menu item “Maintenance Info.”.
- Step 5: Then press the bottom blue button to select the service intervals you want to reset.
- Step 6: Then select whether you want to reset the entire service interval or just individual intervals, e.g. B. the oil change reminder.
- Step 7: Finally you will get a security message whether you want to reset the interval or cancel the process, select RESET.
Well done! In just a few steps you have now reset the interval.
